Our support can help provide the necessary tools that enable young students to join, learn, perform, compete, and travel with Smitty's Performing Arts Center.  Partial and full scholarships may be available, based on available funding.  Your contribution is allocated specifically to help individual students and families.  Families are responsible for a large portion of their performer's expenses such as classes, costumes, tights, shoes, travel expenses, competition fees, and much more.  Which can become difficult for many. Students can dance anywhere between 8-20 hours a week on top of going to school, and other activites offered in this community. 

It can become very difficult for families to balance finances as well as their schedule to continue to have their children stay involved with the performing arts.  Your support will bring dreams to realities for these very special young people.

Application and Reward Process Steps:

• Confidential letter requests are submitted by the candidates to Tim Smith each year by May 30, in consideration for the fall of the next year.  He will consider all applicants that qualify for assistance.  The letter must include an itemization, detailing the exact amount of the request, specifying why the need exists.
• After careful review, consideration, and interview with candidates, scholarship awards are granted.  All applicants receive a response by a Tim Smith in June, with distribution of awards in September.
• Smitty's Staff monitors performers who receive scholarships throughout the year, to assure that the situations remain such that the award is needed in each instance.
